Sweet Heights Treats

Looking for a place in The Heights to grab a sweet summertime treat? Here are a few ideas:

1. Cricket’s Creamery: This is my favorite place to go after a hard day of hitting up the shops on 19th Street. They make the best chai teas, and they have creamy delicious gelato in lots of different flavors. And it’s super cute.

2. MAM’S House of Ice: located on the corner of Rutland and 20th Street, aka The Field of Dreams. E told me he’d seen this place and it had been packed, so we kept walking the dog and expecting to get an afternoon treat, and the blue trailer would be gone. Just an empty lot remained. Then one day I was driving by with my mom, and there was the blue trailer! Cars were lined up with people waiting at 12:50 for the trailer to open up at 1:00 sharp. At 12:55, kids started running to line up. I’m not a huge shaved iced fan, but with a show like that, I figure it has to be good. Here’s their menu in case you’re interested.

3. Revival Market: You’ll definitely find more than just sweets here. They have tons of locally-sourced products, including an impressive dessert case. The macarons are gluten free!

Revival Market is at the corner of Heights Blvd. and 11th Street.

What’s your favorite summertime treat?
