Holidays in Houston: Ouisie’s Table | Brunch

As you have probably already noticed, the holidays are sneaking up on us rather quickly. If you’ve been a bit of a Scrooge in the past, perhaps you’ll follow my Getting Into the Spirit Guide so you can savor Christmas time instead of shun it.

First stop:

Ouisie’s Table is decked out for the holidays! It’s pretty much awesome any time of the year, but it’s especially a great pick when you can enjoy their pretty decorations and the lovely patio because it’s 70 degrees and sunny in Houston.

I started off with a Rosemary Fizzle.

E started with some bread.

{Top} I had the cheese and mushroom frittata and a pot de creme for dessert. {Bottom} E had the shrimp and cheese grits and tres leches for dessert. Everything was delicious!

Of course if does get cold, the inside seating is so charming, you won’t miss the patio.

Next stop:

It’s easy to get into the holiday spirit when you’re surrounded by all the best shops {Banana Republic, Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Apple, Kiehl’s, Ann Taylor, Cole Haan, Lululemon and Crate and Barrel, to name a few}, palm trees with Christmas wreaths and giant glittery red bows.

It would be easy to take care of most of your shopping here, stress free, or you could just enjoy the fun holiday displays!

Next stop:

While you might not get as much shopping done here, it’s always fun to walk around. It’s not quite as decorated as Highland Village, but there are some jeweled snowflakes to remind you you’re supposed to be shopping. Grab a Starbucks to keep you going, and poke around in Sur la Table.

Last stop:

  • Trellis, The Spa at the Houstonian

You’ve shopped til you’ve dropped, and now it’s time to relax! Make sure and wait until dark so you can see the entire Houstonian property lit up. When you drive in, there are lit Christmas trees lining the road and even more lights as you drive to the spa.

The best way to get excited about the holidays? Wrap yourself in a comfy robe, walk up the garland-wrapped stairs, enjoy some champagne by the fire and indulge in a special treatment. You’ve worked hard all year. You deserve it. What’s your favorite way to get into the holiday spirit?

xoxo,

Christie
