Home Update: Livin’ the Dream

This Fourth of July has been extra special for us. It’s the first holiday we’ve celebrated in our home, and the American Dream means much more this year. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we’re proud to be from this great country.

I went shopping this morning so at least one section of our home could be finished. After hitting up Pottery Barn, Home Goods, Hobby Lobby and Anthropologie for something Fourth of July-ish to put inside my awesome new lamp, I gave up. Did you know Pottery Barn charges $10 for a small bag of sand? That’s un-American. Anyways, here’s our entryway…

DSC_0045Any ideas for something to put inside the lamp?

DSC_0062Cheers to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Happy 4th, y’all.

  1. I think anything natural would look beautiful. A mixture of rocks, shells, wood. I made Dan what I call a “box of rocks”. It is very Pottery Barnish. It is just a very eclectic assortment of rocks, shells, pieces of old wood. I’ll try to send you a pic.

  2. loving the simple entryway! that light fixture AND the lamp are just to die for. love your style girl.

  3. that’s a great lamp – lots of possibilities! i like to fill mine with pebbles, wine corks, shells, etc. you can find a lot of those things on the cheap at hobby lobby. in the fall, i switch it out for faux leaves or acorns!
